Use of Wood Inlays in Interior Design
Whether you are a general contractor, architect, interior designer, furniture maker, cabinet maker or anyone interested in using decorative inlays — you have come to the right place. We have designed this web-site to help educate you as to the many ways in which wood inlays are used to enhance the beauty of many types of interior wood products.
Inlaid Woodcraft Company understands the art of wood veneer inlaying — utilizing the most modern techniques available. We pioneered the development of the earliest C02 laser-cutting tools in the early 1980s. Today, we have a wide-ranging customer base which includes leading manufacturers in high-end furniture, cabinet making, yacht building, architectural plywood and many other wood products industries.
A Few Wood Inlay Examples:
- Aircraft Interiors: Inlaid doors, table tops, wall panels and cabinetry
- Yacht Interiors: Inlaid doors, table tops, wall panels and cabinetry (compass rose designs are very popular)
- Commercial Interiors: Inlaid doors, table tops (i.e. logos inlaid into conference table tops), wall panels and cabinetry
- Residential Furniture/Interiors: Inlaid doors, dining tables, coffee tables, accent tables, chairs, beds and cabinetry (including kitchen cabinets), custom entertainment units, inlaid wood floors, etc.
Inlay Wood Borders and Banding
Another style of inlay we offer is inlay borders (banding). These are typically linear (sometimes radiused) inlays ranging from about 1/16" wide to an inch wide or wider. Bandings are frequently used to accent and enhance a variety of wood products ranging from table tops to picture frames. For more information about wood inlays visit our Products Page.
Inlaid Wood Materials
Inlaid Woodcraft Company has a vast inventory of over 100 domestic and exotic wood veneers from around the world. We work with some of the finest veneer vendors throughout the world. They provide us access to the finest supplies of domestic and exotic woods available. We also have expertise working with mother-of-pearl, cork, vinyl, high pressure laminate and metal inlays as well. We use only the finest materials in our products to ensure the highest quality inlays - every time.
Let us know the specifications for you project. If you are unsure whether a particular material can be laser-cut and used in an inlay, let us know. Sometimes, we're not sure a particular material can be laser-cut either, so we're happy test new materials to determine if they are "laser compatible".
